Fjela
Terms of Service
Last updated 16 September 2026
Fjela is in beta and running as a pilot with a small number of early customers. This document covers the pilot and will be revised before a general launch.
About these terms
These terms apply when you use Fjela — the website, the signed-in portal and the API (together, “the service”), provided by Fjela. By creating an account or using an API key, you accept them; if you don’t accept them, don’t use the service. If you use Fjela on behalf of a company, you accept them for that company.
The service
Fjela reads floorplan PDFs and returns structured data about them, such as walls, rooms, doors, windows and text. It is a tool to help you work with drawings: it does not replace your own professional judgment or that of your advisers.
Results are produced automatically, and how good they are depends on the drawings you provide: their quality, legibility, scale and completeness.
Fjela is a beta, offered as a pilot to a small number of early customers. It is not a finished product: we are improving it all the time, and features, the response format and limits may change, sometimes at short notice. We may ask for your feedback on how it works for you.
Checking results
Results can contain mistakes — a missed wall, a door in the wrong place, a misread scale. You are responsible for checking and approving results before you use them, for example to price a job, submit a tender, sell a property or build, and for the decisions you make with them. You are also responsible for the files you upload and the information in them.
Your account and API keys
- Keep your login and your API keys to yourself, and revoke a key if it leaks.
- You are responsible for what is done with your account and your keys.
- Tell us at hello@fjela.com if you think someone else is using them.
Acceptable use
When you use Fjela, please don’t:
- upload files you don’t have the right to use or to share with us for the purposes in these terms;
- upload anything unlawful, or use the service to break the law;
- try to get around rate or page limits, disrupt the service, or access data that isn’t yours;
- resell the service or copy it to build a competing one.
We may limit, suspend or close an account or key that breaks these rules or puts the service or other users at risk.
Your files, your results and our models
You keep the rights you have to the files you upload, and you may use the results you get back as you wish.
You give us permission to store and process your files and results to run the service for you, and to use them within Fjela to improve it: to develop, train and test our models, and to check and correct results. People working for Fjela, including contractors bound by confidentiality, may look at your files and results for these purposes. By uploading a file, you confirm that you have the right to give us this permission.
Your files and results stay within Fjela. We never sell them, share them with other customers or competitors, or show them publicly without your permission. Only the providers that run the service for us process them, on our behalf, as described in our Privacy Policy.
If your files must be kept out of our training data, tell us before you upload them, and we can agree on that in writing.
When you close your account, we delete your files and results from the service. Copies already in our training data, and the models trained with them, may be kept; write to hello@fjela.com if you want your files removed from our training data as well.
Our rights in the service
The service — its software, website, API, documentation and models, including models trained or improved with data from the service — belongs to Fjela or its licensors. These terms give you the right to use the service while your account is open; they don’t transfer any rights in it to you.
Price and payment
During the pilot, Fjela is free to use within the limits shown in your account, such as the number of pages you can process. If we introduce paid plans or credits after the pilot, we’ll tell you in advance and show the price before you choose one; nothing is charged unless you do. Amounts paid are not refunded, unless your plan or mandatory law says otherwise.
Availability and changes
We work to keep Fjela running smoothly, but we can’t promise that it will always be available, uninterrupted or free of errors, least of all as a beta. We may pause it for maintenance, updates or technical reasons. Keep your own copies of files you care about. We may change or stop parts of the service, or end the pilot; if a change affects you significantly, we’ll let you know in good time.
Liability
The service is provided “as is”. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, such as lost profit, contracts, tenders, business, time or data, or for decisions made on the basis of results. Our total liability is limited to what you paid for the service in the month before the event that led to the claim, which is nothing while the service is free. Nothing in these terms limits liability that the law does not allow to be limited, such as for intent or gross negligence, or rights you have under mandatory law, including consumer law.
Events beyond our control
We are not responsible for failing to do something, or doing it late, because of events beyond our reasonable control, such as failures of hosting, network or other third-party services, power cuts, cyberattacks, strikes or natural disasters.
Ending the agreement
You can stop using Fjela and ask us to delete your account at any time. We may end the agreement with reasonable notice, or straight away if these terms are seriously broken. What then happens to your files is described under “Your files, your results and our models”.
Law and disputes
These terms are governed by Norwegian law. If we disagree, we’ll first try to sort it out together; if we can’t, the dispute is settled by the Norwegian courts alone, unless mandatory law gives you the right to go elsewhere.
Changes to these terms
We may change these terms as the service or the law changes. The version in force when you use the service applies, and each file is handled under the terms in force when you uploaded it. If we make a significant change, we’ll tell you directly before it takes effect; if you keep using Fjela after that, you accept the new terms. The date above shows when they last changed. Questions? Write to hello@fjela.com.
